Joseph P. Viteritti is the Thomas Hunter Professor of Public Policy at Hunter College and recently the author of “Radical Dreamers: Race, Choice and the Failure of American Education" (Oxford). He has published previous books on New York mayors John Lindsay and Bill de Blasio.
